What is i2b2?
i2b2 (Informatics for Integrating Biology and the Bedside) is an online, self-service cohort discovery tool. The informatics framework was developed at Harvard and designed to simplify the process of using existing, de-identified, clinical data for preliminary research cohort discovery.
Researchers at DHS, can request access to i2b2. The tool allows researchers to:
Explore patient cohorts and identify cohorts of interest
Obtain aggregate patient counts to assess study feasibility
Request identified, patient-level data*
*Requires IRB approval
