CHECKLIST:

✔ A USC email address (ending in @usc.edu)

✔ A smartphone or tablet

✔ Downloaded two-factor authentication app i.e. DUO, Free OTP, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator.

✔ ORCID ID is used to provide author attribution. Account creation is free and quick.

Sign Up

1. Apply for an account: fill out the N3C registration form using your Institutional email address.

2. Select USC from the list of participating institutions. You will be prompted to sign in through your institutional log-in.

3. Check the "Access to the N3C Data Enclave" box. Your name, instituation, and email will be pre-filled according to information derived from your institutional program.

  1. Review and Accept the N3C Data User Code of Conduct.

  1. The N3C Data User Code of Conduct states core activities of data users and prohibitions on certain activities involving data or other resources accessible through the N3C Data Enclave. Researchers must agree to the N3C Data User Code of Conduct when they apply to access and use N3C data.

6. Please allow 5 business days for account creation. Once an account has been generated, an email with further instructions will be sent to the email address provided.

Log in to your new account

1. When your account is created you will receive an email notification.

2. Log in to the N3C Data Enclave upon approval of account.

  1. Connect your Account to a mobile authenticator app on your mobile device.

  1. Upon your first log in, enter your verification code. In all future log-ins - You will be asked to verify our account, using the 6 digit code found in your mobile authenticator app.

  1. Agree to the user license agreement.
