CHLA faculty, residents, fellows, and postdocs should already have a USC Net ID.


Please Note: CHLA users may not use the Cerner features in KECKCap unless they have a dual appointment and an active Cerner account. KECKCap is NOT connected to CHLA’s Electronic Medical Records.

KECKCap ACCOUNT CREDENTIALS
KECKCap requires the following to gain access:

  • USC Net ID and password to establish new user accounts.

  • Access to the Keck Med VPN

    • Requires a Medmail account to access the Keck Med VPN. (ex.- john.doe@med.usc.edu)

HOW TO ACCESS THE MED VPN

To access the Med VPN simply log on to the keck portal https://keckportal.med.usc.edu/ and select the intranet icon. Once the browser window opens navigate to keckcap.med.usc.edu.

HOW TO SIGN IN

  • Using your medmail account, you must first connect to the Med VPN.

  • Once on the Med VPN, the URL for KECKCap is https://keckcap.med.usc.edu.

  • You will use your USC Net ID account (not med) to log on to KECKÇap.

  • After first login, please email support@sc-ctsi.org requesting your login be added to the user allow list.

CHLA USERS WITHOUT A USC NET ID
If you do not have a USC Net ID, you must request a sponsored temporary Net ID through the USC IVIP application process. Please complete this form: https://redcap.link/IVIP. Once the form has been processed, please follow the instructions provided for activating your USC Net ID.

CHLA USERS WITHOUT A MEDMAIL ACCOUNT

To request a medmail account, please complete XXXX. You must first have a USC Net ID before you request a medmail account.

CHLA IVIP / NET ID RENEWAL

If your Net ID has reached or is approaching the expiration period, please complete the IVIP application again for renewal. The maximum duration of a guest’s Net ID is 14 months.


CHLA-SPONSORED, GUEST AFFILIATE ACCOUNTS

HOW TO SIGN IN

If you are an IVIP / Guest account holder, you must activate your USC Net ID before you attempt to sign in to REDCap.

The URL for KECKCap is https://keckcap.med.usc.edu. If you have an active USC Net ID and receive an error upon your first sign-in attempt, please email cri@usc.edu to have your Net ID added to the user inclusion group.
